VICTORIAN DESIGN ILLUSTRATION.
Studying fashion history is one of my favorite topics at college, i find history really interesting and exploring, it never fails to amaze or inspire me. Today's fashion is a cycle from the past and that really fascinates me. In lesson we were set a task to accomplish our own fashion look on an illustration.

I chose to challenge myself three illustrations creating my own Victorian collection. I worked from found images on the internet which really stood out to me and was in my interest. The first garment which i knew i wanted to include in my illustrations was a 'corset' the corset was a traditional item in a ladies wardrobe in the Victorian era. I took this image into my research been able to see the close up from the corset and the structure it gave to the lady.

After taking this into consideration i started two of my sketches both with corsets. I wanted to create a Victorian look which could be worn now. So the first look i used a corset followed with smart trousers adding a peplum. i also added a shaul and broach to the look making it signify smartness and upperclass.

The third illustration i also used a corset followed with a long smart blazer jacket and again some smart trousers, this look blossomed from the petticoat look in the Victorian era, where women wore peticoats and bloomers.

The image below shows the peticoat and bloomers.

My final look i wanted to go for a long flowing gown dress, based upon the Victorian dresses, i wanted to keep the aspect of the huge puffy sleeves but loose the bustle as in 2013 it isn't very suitable.

I created the caption of this dress from a present image i spotted on pintrest, i love this image i love the scenery of the photo shoot and the connotations that spark off of the image.

FINAL
Here is my final three illustrations, I'm really happy with the illustrations and the ideas that i got from the research.

SOME OF THE FAVORITES FROM THE GALLERY ON MY RESEARCH

I love the couture embellishment on this late Victorian dress, the dress itself is beautiful and connotates purity and innocence, its a beautiful design and structure.

OBSESSION.
Clothing isn’t just fashion. Everything around us is fashion. And there’s nothing I love more than cosmetics, buying a new lipstick is like buying a new top, wearing a new foundation against an old dress makes you feel new the excitement of trying out the latest and adding it to your makeup bag.

This was my makeup collection in August 2013.

I recently had a make over at MAC cosmetics in Meadowhall, and the workers there are insanely talented,  we got onto the big topic of how makeup makes you feel, how it changes the structure of your face and the glow when the camera flashes? Amazing.

I had a smokey eye look tied together with a big eyeliner flick.

Recently Rihanna has launched a makeup range in MAC cosmetics, and ive purchased quite a few items. I wasn't at all impressed with Riri's fashion range at River Island but she's made it up to me as a customer from her fabulous colours and tones in her makeup collection.

These were my purchases from Harvey Nichols Leeds, Mac Cosmetics concessions last week and so far I've been more than impressed!

The first thing i needed was some new foundation, I am really fussy about my foundation, my skin isn't the best and i like a full coverage! For many years i used Mac Cosmetics studio fix but i felt like i needed a change I moved onto Illamasqua and i fell in love for a while until it became too thick for my skin making it dry. This is the first time I've tried the my new mac foundation and I'm in love. It gives my skin a shine and a good full coverage. It's not thick and is a reasonable £25.

RIRI

Highlighter £16.00 (think) Eyelashes £11.00)Lipstick £17.00 (think)

My first buy was these eyelashes i usually buy 43s i think and these were the closest but more full so i thought i'd try them out. There not really suitable for day but great for night!!

My found love!!!!!!! I'm in love with this highlighter originally i wasn't going to buy this but i couldn't resist! I really recommend this!!

I love the packaging to Rihanna and the lipstick has to be my favorite in the whole collection, the chrome packaging makes me just want to buy everything!! The Riri woo seems to be a take on Mac's red 'Ruby woo'. The lipstick is really matte and stays on for a hell of a long time!! Can't ever go wrong with a red lippy!
